An old hobby that I don’t seem to have much time for these days. I did a lot of research when I was younger. I was the founding Chairman of the Haldimand County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS).
Genealogy took me us over Canada and the world trying to learn more about our ancestors and the lives they lived.

Richard Flower , b.1826 in Yorkshire, England, m. Mary Ann Stevenson , settled Byng, Haldimand County , Ontario.
John Daniel Grenville , b.Wainfleet, Ontario in 1824, m. Mercy Ett Wheeler .
John Henry Hattin, b.1860 in Peel township, Ontario, m. Rebecca Stickney and farmed near Guelph, Ontario.
George Hopkinson , b.1825 in England, m. Matilda Taylor, settled in Nossagawaya township , Ontario.
George Stephens, b.1826 in England, settled Haldimand County , Ontario, m. Jessie McFarlane from Perthshire, Scotland.
John Stickney , b.1777 in Yorkshire, England, m. Ann Machell, came to Canada in 1830 and settled in Pilkington township. See photo of Richard Stickney family .
Michael Strong , b.1804 in Co. Monaghan, Ireland, brought his wife Margaret and family to Canada in June 1846. Settled at York Mills, Ontario, later moved to Oro and Medonte townships in Simcoe County , Ontario. 100’s of descendants currently throughout the USA and Canada. Bernhardt Werner , b.1812 in Alsace, France, came to Pennsylvania with his parents about 1820. Came to Niagara region of Ontario about 1836, m. Elizabeth Sherg . Settled in Rainham township, Haldimand County 1837 where he was a Mennonite minister.
